It’s October and Halloween is approaching quickly here in the United States. If you are not a fan of going outside and prefer staying indoors, I have a few ideas for fun that do not involve costumes. If you are like me and don’t have any pets at the moment, consider making it a movie night at home.

An Amazon best seller. In this family friendly classic, Marnie and her siblings return with their grandmother to Halloweentown.
It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
This classic by Charles M. Shultz and Bill Melendez is remastered and features Charlie Brown, Snoopy and a whole host of other familiar characters. A great classic Halloween movie to see with the whole family.
In this Steven Spielberg classic, a stranded alien needs to phone home and he just happens to meet some kids to help him in his quest.
Horror/ Thriller/Classics
In this Stephen King classic brought to life a father discovers an ancient burial ground with the magical ability to bring back the dead. After tragedy strikes, visiting this burial ground may just be the answer to this family’s prayers when their son is involved in a fatal accident.
This is a classic. One of the first horror movies I saw as a kid was Halloween. In this updated version, Michael Myers returns to kill again–but this time Jamie Lee Curtis is waiting for him in this sequel to John Carpenter’s classic.
In this horror movie, a young African American man visits his Caucasian girlfriend’s cursed family estate. He discovers meeting the family entails much more than he bargained for. This movie is sure to give you a fright with a twist at the end.
Halloween Humor
Scary Movie is the perfect parody of a collection of all the classic scary movies from the 90s. A group of intellectually challenged teenagers are stalked by a bumbling serial killer.
I this classic comedy, a young couple move into their dream home only to discover an unexpected new guest. They unknowingly invite Beetlejuice — the “Ghost With the Most” — to life.
Another Tyler Perry classic. Madea and her family stay home to keep a watchful eye on Brian’s teenage daughter on Halloween, however as the midnight hour strikes all hell breaks loose in this hilarious comedy.
An very unique, special young man named Edward, who happens to have scissors for hands, falls in love with a beautiful teenage girl. Find out what happens when the entire neighborhood finds out!
