“Create.”
My focus word for 2017 is to C-R-E-A-T-E. I’ve decided 2017 is the year I’m going to create every week. This is in all facets of my life. Create weekly content. Create a healthy body. Create new art. Create new adventures. Create a new way of thinking. Create the life I want to have.
Often times life throws you a curveball and you don’t know what to do or how to recover. Trials are lessons for us in this life. Challenges and obstacles are a test in this life. However don’t let obstacles or traumatic events keep you down. Get up and persevere. Prove to yourself and the haters you are so much more than what you thought possible.
I got a glimpse of this last year in 2016. I turned my pain into purpose to help myself and others in this blog. As I’ve mentioned before, the loss of youngest cat Dusty hit me hard. I knew in my heart that this experience is one other pet parents can relate to. I had to find a way to express my creativity and share my story…hence this blog.
I never thought about blogging before my husband mentioned the idea. It’s a great avenue to explore your voice, creativity and opportunity with others. Now in 2017, I have a refreshed blog, new perspective and even more gratitude.
Often times we go through life day in and day out in a state of being comfortable. This year in 2017 I want to continue my journey to create and get out of my comfort zone. It sounds cliché but, we really need to live life to the fullest, like it’s our last day on Earth. All the tragedies you see on the news nowadays or hear about on social media could just as easily happen to you and I. Tomorrow’s not promised.
“To get something you never had you must be willing to do something you have never done.” -Thomas Jefferson
So I’m taking a vow for 2017 to better myself and create. It’s what truly challenges me, gives me joy and peace.
What gives you joy in this lifetime? How do you want your life to change? Are you stuck in the same routine? What could you do different today that would change your life for the better in the future? If you found out you had one week to live, would you be happy with the legacy you’ve left behind?
I don’t have all the answers however I think that is part of the journey of life – trying to figure out the answers. With that said I am going to make a decision today. It is time to quit talking about what I’m going to do and take active steps towards my goals.
2016 proved to be the year I actually made things happen and created something from nothing. In 2017 I only see improvement and continued growth coming my way. I hope this year, you continue to follow this journey with me and be inspired to make positive changes in your life too.
