My cat passed away 2 years ago from aggressive thyroid cancer. During this time up until her passing, I researched and learned a lot about how much our food choices and remedies can impact their health. I shared with you my blog post Euthanasia: How I decided it was time to Let Go and discussed my thoughts about considering the quality of life while my cat was fighting cancer. During this time, I was on a quest to find natural ways to provide my cat Dusty with optimal quality of life during her last months. Due to her age and frail state, I didn’t want to put her through surgery and then rounds of rigorous chemotherapy. So, I was on a mission to find alternative medicine. While looking for answers and solutions, I discovered a few companies that offer natural holistic supplements and remedies for sick pets.
Before I share which companies I discovered, let me take a moment to share the difference between conventional medicine and holistic medicine.
Conventional medicine vs. Holistic remedies
According to a post by Dr. Michael Dym, VMD Veterinarian, “Pets treated conventionally also do NOT truly achieve a higher level of health, where they are stronger or less susceptible to future illness. Conventional medicine does often lead to quicker symptomatic relief; however, this sometimes comes with a chronic health care price and/or necessity to keep animals on medication indefinitely, in order to prevent symptom relapse.
Holistic veterinary care tends to look at the body as being sick as a whole, and attempts to restore health and balance on all levels of physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. Nutritional, environmental and toxic stresses are also evaluated as to their role in illness. Examples of holistic therapies include homeopathy, traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture, and chiropractic care. The goal of treatments are to cure the patient of disease, and make patients stronger and healthier and less susceptible to future illness, rather than having to continue treatment indefinitely.”

I’ve previously ordered minor items like dental toothpaste or flea treatments in the past from OnlyNaturalPet.com, however while Dusty was fighting cancer I liked PetWellBeing.com the best. I could see Dusty’s lethargy start to reverse in 72 hours. The products I bought from PetWellBeing.com in conjunction with my vet’s prescribed ½ pill/2x per day steroid medication helped give my cat a better quality of life without excessive drugs and chemo. This combined with extra love and attention helped give my cat quality of life in her last days.
