Hey guys! If you are a follower of my blog, you know, over the past year, I’ve learned to incorporate more facets of things that I’m interested in and help you heal and live your best life post-pet loss. Part of this healing means finding ways to move forward. For me, that includes painting, travel, journaling, and also revisiting memory lane, and recalling the best moments of life with Precious and Dusty.
Additionally, I enjoy reading. On my blogging journey, I’ve learned that people need and want inspirational content in their lives. Hence, this is why I now incorporate inspirational quotes every Monday on the blog. Life is hard enough to deal with, so adding some words of encouragement is needed. I’ve received great feedback to keep it coming!
Speaking of which, earlier this year I wrote a post called 5 Inspirational Books that gave me the courage to live my best life. I don’t know about you, but my life can be hectic, juggling many different moving parts. And as I get older, I enjoy reading books that help me better organize my life and become my best self. I love anything from spiritual and motivational books to fiction and DIY projects.

Say Yes to Prompting of the Holy Spirit: A Book Review
Last year I was told about this newly published book called Say Yes to the Prompting of the Holy Spirit. I don’t know about you but every year I have a goal in mind to read at least a half-dozen or more books. Coincidentally, I heard about this book and added it to my book list.
As a Christian and the author’s daughter, I had to pick up a copy and show my support! Yep! You read that correctly. The author of “Say Yes to the Prompting of the Holy Spirit” is Kenneth Overby, my father. I wanted to show support and purchased my own copy from Barnes & Noble.com with my own money. All opinions are my own.
What’s this book about?
Curious to know exactly what this book is about? Here is a snippet synopsis of this book from the author:
“… This book encourages you to consider God as a vital necessity in your life and to put your total trust in Him. And by listening to that still inner voice inside you which is the Holy Spirit you will get comfort, direction, find peace, and hear the truth. And the truth shall set you free from all those things which have kept you in bondage. The author reveals how listening, heeding, and responding to the Holy Spirit have positively impacted his life, and the same can happen to you.”

My Thoughts
After ordering my copy of the book from Barnes and Noble online I received it fairly quickly in about 5 business days or so. This book is a quick read, great for those of Christian faith and even those curious as well. What I liked about this book was the semi-autobiographical style of writing and learning how Christian principles applied to the author’s life.
Kenneth Overby shares snippets of his childhood and journey of discovering Christ through family. He describes his spiritual walk as an adult experiencing challenges and obstacles.
This book demonstrates what a walk in a Christian man’s shoes looks like as a regular person trying to do their best and grow in Christ. Learning to listen to the prompting of the Holy Spirit and practice discernment in all areas of life.
As a fellow believer in Christ, I found this book enlightening and relatable as I can see parallels to my personal spiritual journey with Christ. I enjoyed learning about the author’s upbringing and conversations with God. And I found personal insight regarding his prayer time with God.
I recommend this book for anyone walking in Christ looking to continue their spiritual journey and those curious to learn more about what it means to walk in the Christian faith.
That was my perspective on the book, but how about hearing from the author himself?
