Wordless Wednesday- I just got spayed.
Today’s Wordless Wednesday post is a snapshot from way back in 1998. My first cat Precious had just returned from the vet. She got spayed. She was groggy and not in the mood for a picture, but I got one. After two days she was feeling fine and dandy though.
Precious got spayed.
It’s so important to get your cats and dogs spayed/neutered to help with the overpopulation crisis. It’s also beneficial to the health of your pet. Here are just a few benefits of getting your pet fixed you may not be aware of. According to the ASPCA, some of the benefits of spay and neutering your pet include:
-
Nuetered male pets are better behaved.
-
Female pets won’t go into heat.
-
Male dogs will be less likely to roam away from home
-
Female pets will live a longer healthier life.
-
Spay and neutering your pet means you spend less money as there is no litter to take care of.

In addition to the overpopulation, having our pets spayed and neutered is also so important to their health and well being.

Spaying and neutering pets is the NUMBER ONE way to help the pet overpopulation problems. Shelters and rescues can try as hard as they can, but unless we stop allowing all these unwanted litters, animals will continue to die in shelters. Thanks for doing your part!

Your Precious is adorable. I’m sad to say I don’t have a lot of great photos of my pets that many years ago. What a nice memory.

Awee Precious don’t worry – you will have forgotten all about it soon enough. Your Mama loves you this is why she had to do it! It’s for the best we promise!

Mr. N was neutered before we got him. He was neutered kind of late but it did give him a chance to develop fully first.

Sweet cuddly photo. I don’t remember getting spayed, but it’s important so it’s good you did it…

All of my cats have been spayed. I remember bring Truffle home from her spay and Brulee (who was 12 weeks younger) wanted to play rough. I put Brulee in the bathroom with the door closed and Truffle stayed outside the door waiting on her. When I opened the door, Brulee was very gentle with Truffle.

Wonderful post! Spay/Neuter is so critical to keep shelters from constant overcrowding. I’m disturbed that so many people still refuse to Spay or Neuter their cats & dogs, makes me crazy. Adorable photo of your cat, Precious!

Ahhh, Precious girl. She’s lucky to have had such a smart pet parent to have her spayed. It’s never been an option in my house- my pets get snipped. Now if I could get my husband to agree to it for himself š

I volunteer with a feral cat rescue organization. I see the difference spay/neuter can make. By working together we can end overpopulation. Thank you for spreading the word.
