My art update… Canva style!
It’s been a while…
Hey guys! It’s been quite a while since I last updated you with some of my designs. What can I say? I’ve been busy and distracted to say the least. I’m down to my last three canvases and need to restock, so in the interim I felt inspired to create a few more digital designs in Canva.
I love Canva!
You know I love to explore my creativity using the Canva templates. If you missed some of my other designs check out one of my early blog posts called Designs I created using Canva for free!
I love using Canva to create designs that inspire, make you laugh, create joy, promote creativity and originality. As you know I’m a big animal lover and fan of Afrocentric art. However, in light of the current climate of current events happening in the United States, I felt compelled to create a new digital design piece from the heart.
Art imitates life.
I always say art imitates life. Currently in the USA there are numerous stories and incidents of violence, inequality and division. Right now it feels like there is so much strife, confusion, tragedy and dare I say it lack of common sense. In light of the emotionally heightened climate, I felt inspired to make a creation that speaks from the heart.
I’m not a politician or CEO of a corporation with a huge platform, however I’m just a Jersey girl with a passion for creativity and art. If I can use my talent of writing and artistic expression to help others in a positive way, I’m going to share.
So without further adieu, check out my new additions to my Impurrfectlife art portfolio. You can view more in detail by clicking on the image itself. I hope you like and enjoy. I promise my next art update will include new acrylic paintings by yours truly.
Let me know, which one is your favorite? Comment and share your thoughts below!

Nice job! I’m getting more comfortable with Canva and tend to use it for all of my graphics.
Same here! I’ll have to upgrade one day soon.
Very nice. Canva seems to be a great toy.
Thank you!
Kamira, they are all phenomenal. I cannot choose just one! You are so right, in today’s crazy and unsettling climate, these are so refreshing to see! Thank you for sharing some much-needed smiles, joy, and your incredible artistic work!
Happy to share some positivity and Thank you!
I just pinned the last one! We definitely need more wisdom, unity, and love!
Beth,
Oh thank you so much! And I agree!
I started with Pic Monkey and people on the team use Photoshop so I haven’t really tried to switch. Your designs look great so maybe I should but I have a feeling it is mainly the artist not the tools.
Aww shucks! I can’t take credit for the images but definitely the designs layout, choices and wording. 🙂 Canva’s a great way to try digital graphic drag and drop design. I’ll have to try a video post of how I do it one day soon. Thanks for the kind words.
I haven’t worked with Canva. Your work inspires me to do so – thank you.
Creating is therapeutic and we should do more of it. Okay, there. I’ve set myself a personal challenge. Create SOMETHING this week. Who knows, I might get on a roll and come up with more than one creation.
Sadie,
I think that’s awesome! The good thing about Canva is it’s FREE. All my creations are using the Free version. You can always upgrade later if you want to but at the very least you’ll have a new way to create pins for your blog or try your creative side for fun. Good luck! Have fun!
Kamira, these designs are all terrific. I love both the first and last ones the best – but that last one really got me, it’s so perfect for this crazy climate in the US these days.
Love & Biscuits,
Dogs Luv Us and We Luv Them
Thank you Cathy! Yes, I’m so tired of all the craziness and division. I had to use my creative side to express what I want to see more of in this country. I know we are better than our past.
Looks nice! I love Canva as well and use it in multiple aspects of my businesses.
Sweet!
These are so great! I wish I was able to use canva ths easily. You should seriously consider putting in a proposal for a workshop at the CWA conference.
Thanks so much Lola!
They are all wonderful designs! I have only recently started using Canva and am really loving it! It’s a great and easy way to make designs for our blogs.
Thanks Kelly! I’m glad you are enjoying it too.
I love Canva. It’s fun to play with though so far I’ve just used it to make Pinterest images and Instagram graphics for blog posts.
Love your new graphics. I tried Canva and got all confused and frustrated LOL but must get back there and try again
Omg love your designs! Very sweet post. I been using canva for awhile now and absolutely love it!
Thank you Chetna!
Thank you Chetna!
I love Canva! So much easier than Adobe Illustrator. I love the paw design ❤️
Thank you Myrtle! It’s one of my favs too!
I just signed up for Canva, and have started playing with it. Love your designs!
Amy,
Thank you so much! I find Canva very user friendly. I hope you enjoy it too! They have many great templates for social posts and also pins for bloggers like us!
My favourite is pets make a house a home – we lost our beloved Yorkshire terrier – Alfie, last year and I thought I could never want another dog – however you are right that pets make a house a home and we now have a beautiful schnoodle called Tilly who we love so much – Alfie will always be in our hearts but Tilly has made the house a home again ❤️
Steph,
Aww I’m sorry to hear about Alfie but also happy for you that Tilly has found a place in your home and your heart. Thanks for the kinds words!
Thanks for the heads up on Canva, it looks a million times better than my MSPAINT pictures lol.
Ah yes!! Believe it or not I still use MS paint here and there too! Hey, we all have to start somewhere right? You should try Canva. They have a completely free version and then you are able to upgrade if you desire. All my designs are using the free version. 😉
Love your new designs, and the images themselves really do speak volumes. I love Canva it’s so easy to use, but I’m afraid my lack of creativity means mine are bad…and that’s a nice way of saying it!
Hindy,
LOL everyone has their own style. Bad…nah that’s subjective. Thank you for the kind words. I do agree. Canva is very user friendly. 🙂
