Backstory
This small business reached out to me regarding their services, and when I saw what they had to offer, I jumped at the chance to respond and connect.
Owner Jeffrey Kay of My Digital Memories is a fellow pet parent and dog owner who understands what it means to lose a furry loved one. His heart dog Bailey was the joy of his life.
Living that experience living life after pet loss, he understands the need to preserve our memories for as long as possible.
After his parents passed away, Jeffrey discovered the many photos and memorabilia they collected over the course of five decades.
Additionally, talking with a friend who had experienced losing everything in a natural disaster made him realize the desire people have to protect their precious memories. From this experience, his company was born.
My Digital Memories was created out of a need to provide solutions for people to hold onto their most treasures moments most efficiently.

Benefits of using a digital service
You may be thinking, “This is nice. I have my photos stored away. It’ll last.”
Think again.
I learned that photos and other similar media start to decay after ten years. And home movies begin to lose their integrity after 23 years.
We want our memories with Fluffy to be preserved for a lifetime. With digitized storage and sharing, your memories will be protected from the elements of bad weather, decay, and other natural disasters.
What digital service types are offered?
With My Digital Memories, you can create custom packages for any occasion. From milestone memories like weddings and graduation to pet memorials and travel, you are only limited by your imagination.
The types of packages you can explore are all custom. You can request a digital memorial album for a pet memorial with special effects like border framing, unique transitions, captions, music, and more.
For other living memories, you can create storytelling videos or slideshows.
Additional keepsake ideas mentioned on the website include
- Photo puzzles
- 3D Crystals
- Photo cards
- Photo books.
My experience with My Digital Memories an honest review
With the passing of my cat Dusty a few years ago, I admittedly am one of those people with photos tucked away in storage. However, with My Digital Memories, I had the chance to get a sample of the unique service they provide.
Since I wanted to do a digital video memorial, I was asked to provide several photos. The more images provided, the better. And if I wanted to add any video clips, that could also be added.
I provided about 20 old photos with one short video clip with poor lighting (due to my old cell phone) via email.
I also included captions I wanted for specific images.
Jeffrey Kay worked his magic to provide the following sample video clips.
Sneak Peek
Version One
This first video clip demonstrates a small peek into the elements and creative effects Jeffrey Kay can do with his talents. This was not the final version; however, it showed the different results he could produce using some photos.
From brightening up old video footage to sharpening old photos and adding unique colorful borders and effects, it really makes the project come to life.
In the video below, take note of the special effects borders, transitions, color enhancements, and music included.
Check out this first version video with Dusty.
Version Two
This second and final video memorial has the captions I requested and the chronological order of moments in her life I preferred.
My Digital Memories also added nice fade and peels storybook transitions throughout, and I love the added hearts at the tail end with my heart cat Dusty.
See version two with chronological pictures and captions with my sweet Dusty below.
Honest feedback
Overall, I had a lovely experience with My Digital Memories service. I consider myself a crafty person. However, this service is excellent for people looking to preserve memories that don’t have the time or skills to capture their memories in such a professional manner.
On the flip side, this service may not be suitable for those who are experienced in digital restoration and have the skills already to create video media with special effects.
Personal Service
Jeffrey Kay was very down-to-earth and personable when interacting together. We conversed over the phone and via email. He was very prompt in responding to any questions or comments and was happy to accommodate any needs.
His timely responses were very much appreciated.
Quality & Special Touch
I’m a Canva enthusiast, but even my Canva skills can’t compare to the quality and enhancement abilities to touch up and brighten the video in Dusty’s memorial package.
I also enjoyed the transitions, looping, and music overlay. This was a nice added touch and left me smiling ear to ear as I watched. It really touched my heart.
Delivery options
In my case, working with Jefferey Kay, I could email my scanned photos and digital images for my project.
However, if you live in the West Virginia area, My Digital Memories does provide white-glove service with drop-off/pick-up options within a 30-mile radius. All original media will be returned.
You can also mail your photos or old media to their location at 20 Blackburn Ct, Charles Town, WV 25414, USA.
Where do I start?
Start by contacting owner Jeffrey Kay for a free 15-minute consultation to discuss your needs.
Product Pricing
Pricing varies depending on your needs and customization. Pricing starts at $149+ and up. The pricing is worth it since these memories will last a lifetime. It’s worth the investment.
And good news. You can save 10% off your package using my referral code KAMIRA today. Tell Mr. Kay I sent you!
Final Verdict
A select few may not have the budget or be a computer tech wiz when it comes to videography and customizing media, so this service may not be for you. And that’s okay.
For those of us who have the means but don’t have the time or ability to create such polished digitized memories on our own, consider My Digital Memories your first choice.
Having the ability to personally customize your pet memorial package the way you want and interact with down-to-earth professionals is refreshing.
Working with a fellow pet parent who understands the importance of honoring your pet’s memory for a lifetime is a gift.
And knowing these digitized moments are safe and protected gives peace of mind and renewed joy.
My final verdict, I give My Digital Memories a 10 out of 10!
Two thumbs up and a big thank you to Mr. Jeffrey Kay!

Very cool. I love your final video! Dusty is so cute. I don’t think I’d personally use this service because all my media is already digitized and backed up in multiple locations, including online. But I shared – I can for sure see this being a useful service for a lot of people. Thanks for sharing.
Admin
Michelle,
Thank you and I’m glad you enjoyed the video! I’m glad you have your media already digitized and backed up. You are prepared!

I saw an advert for this on TV the other day, it is a brilliant idea but I would not use it as I have everything backed up on a USB in my disaster bag and I update to it once a month. I am so careful to back up on a monthly basis as I am afraid of a crashing laptop also LOL. Layla’s photos are too precious to lose. I have shared it as I am sure there are some people that would be interested.
Admin
Ruth,
Thank you so much for sharing. It’s a big relief to know you have your photos backed up and current. š

What a terrific idea! I have boxes of photos I definitely need to preserve. I’ve been worried about them. When things calm down a bit in the fall or winter, I’ll do a deep dive into this and the boxes. Thanks for this review.
Dusty and your photos are absolutely beautiful! You can tell by your interaction she was your heart kitty, without you saying a word. Beautiful!
Admin

This is a brilliant idea and it will be so valuable to a lot of people without the technical skills to create and preserve their own memories.
Lots more people should know about this and I am so glad you even got some video of your beloved Dusty in your presentation.( That choked me up bit.) It is SO worth the money if it is something you can’t do yourself and the quality looks excellent.
Admin
Marjorie,
Thank you so much. I’m glad you enjoyed it too. I agree. Memories of your beloved pets preserved is worth the investment. Thanks for sharing your insight.

I am not much into apps. I keep memories organized on my computer and on a backup drive.
Admin
Hi Jana,
This may be a good option as it’s a service, not an app. My Digital Memories not only restores old media but they can create customized digital videos and memories for you. You can learn more in detail about all the services they offer at https://www.mydigital-memories.com/about. I hope it helps.

Kamira, this came at such a perfect time for me. We’ve relocated after 30 years and I have my years of photos (I’m a photographer, so there are many!) and many family photos and movies from my mother after she passed. I’ve been mulling over how to convert them. I will definitely be checking this out. Thanks for the great review!
Have a safe and Happy Fourth!

What a wonderful service, I especially like that there is also a mail in option so you can gather and mail photos to them. Dusty’s video is beautiful! I liked both versions.
