Tips & tools to keep your dog and cat safe in the summer heat! [Infographic]

A special guest post by Kristen Seymour

Summer? It’s when you get out and about with your animals. You take them to the park, you take them on trips, you just spend time with them outside, even in your own yard. But you also have to understand that warm weather conditions can be stressful for your pets in a lot of ways.

For example, think about your pet when it’s hot. A dog may start panting in what seems like an uncontrollable manner. That may be just one sign that they’re suffering from stress related to the temperatures or humidity. Those conditions may also accelerate and end up with more severe symptoms, such as seizures and vomiting.

Of course, the biological makeup of animals engenders a lot of this stress in warm weather. Think about it: They’re covered in fur. They can’t open the fridge and grab a glass full of ice and add water in order to soothe themselves. So here’s help about what to look for and what to do in hot weather.
