Happy Valentine’s Day: My soulmate has paws

If you are like me and had pets growing up, I can attest that the first living being outside of myself that I had to care for myself to make sure they had food, water and shelter included a cat. One thing about love is that it is unconditional and goes beyond the human to human connection but also includes the animal and human bond. Raising both my girl cats Precious and Dusty, I can say for sure in my lifetime my soulmate had paws.

With Valentine’s day coming up, I thought it would be fun to share some interesting stats and also some Redbubble art reflective of my love of animals.

Biggest lesson learned

Looking back on my past experience raising Precious and Dusty I can say unequivocally that they taught me what it means to love unconditionally. They loved me at my best and worst, bare face or made up, fat or thin and everything in between. They both shared some of the biggest milestones of my life including cross country moves, road trips, jobs changes and marriage. I’m so blessed to have the honor of being their mommy. Without a doubt my soulmate had paws.

Precious and Dusty have long since gained their angel wings and today I am proud to be a new foster mom helping show love to homeless cats in need of loving forever homes. Every being should know what it’s like to be wanted, respected and loved.
