Life Update: Before I go, I have something to say

Life Update

Hey Impurrfectlife Insiders. Daylight Savings is in full effect, and Spring is here. Well, that is what my brain tells me anyway. The weather is still cold here in the Northeast but shows signs of warming up in the coming week. I just wanted to check in with you to ensure you were informed and keep you in the loop.

Can I share a secret? I am tired and think I may be experiencing some burnout. I am not sure if it is brain drain or anxiousness to get out (like we used to do pre-COVID) or perhaps my intuition is telling me it is just time for a change. Either way, this gal needs a break! I have so many creative ideas in my head, I need to take time to recharge and redirect my focus for a bit. So, while I take some time out for myself, I wanted to be sure to share some things I have been exploring.

Remember last year when I said…

Remember last year (before we knew about COVID-19 hitting the United States) I mentioned I wanted to delve into more of my artwork? If you missed that video, you can check it out here.

As you are already aware, my content is focused on finding healing after losing a pet. So naturally, I have grief-related content and think it is important to share encouraging words of inspiration to help keep you encouraged and inspired. So, every week I share motivation Monday quotes. You all have expressed you enjoy this type of content, so I will continue to do so happily.

Additionally, in the last feedback survey completed, a large majority of you expressed interest in e-books and printables, so I wanted to share some news.

That is all from my end. But before I go, I have one more thing to say. I want to hear from you. Now that Spring is here, what are you looking forward to this season?

What is your favorite pastime? Do you enjoy giving your pet belly rubs? Do you write in a journal? Are you a DIY person that likes to make photo collages? Do you draw or paint?

GREAT ideas!!! I don’t do ebooks and my printer isn’t functioning properly at all, but for those whose are, great ideas!!!!!!!! Oh and I was burned out way before Cody and Dakota passed, once they passed it added to it. Now, I have NO set blogging schedule. I blog when the mood hits…..maybe that would work for you? Taking time for ourselves is the most important. Levi keeps me super busy with Lenny having a permanent sub job til June, so that is another reason I am not blogging as much or reading blogs as much as I would like to. I’m on constant walk patrol and poop patrol lol!!!

      Caren,
Thanks for your feedback and kind words! Hmm I may have to consider revamping my blogging “schedule” and do so as the mood hits me. You gave some great advice. Thank you. XOXO

Oh I can relate! I’ve also been feeling “blah”. This pandemic has really thrown us all off track. I like your greeting card designs. Honestly, I never would have thought about printable cards. Great idea. I’ll have to check out your Redbubble store. I’m looking for tote bags…trying to be more environmentally conscious and ditch plastic. I’m looking forward to getting out walking more since putting on some lbs while in quarantine. LOL Take care of yourself.

      Renee,
Thanks for the kind words. 🙂 And by the way, yes Redbubble has canvas totes as well. I love using my totes weekly when going food shopping. I’ll never go back to paper bags/plastic. Good luck on the fitness journey too!

Congrats on your new e-product line! I am excited to get out with my pups and travel again. We are driving around to different roadside attractions tomorrow and a national park on Monday. Fresh air makes everything better for me!

      Tiffany,
Thanks so much! Oh enjoy your upcoming road trip too. I agree. Getting outside every now and then to get fresh air is important and good for the soul.

I’m glad that you are taking time for yourself! I hope to do some work in my flower beds this spring, I have let mine go for too long.

      Beth,
Ooh That sounds nice. I admire those that can garden and keep plants alive. I’m a work in progress in that department. LOL

I wish I had known you 5 years ago when I lost my soul dog, Titus. The pain I felt for months after he passed was nearly unbearable. A lot of it was due to how traumatic his passing was, but also because he was my world. It’s been almost 6 years and I’m still not at peace. I can’t wait to go look through all of your work. I work with pets daily and go through the loss of my client’s pets almost monthly it seems. I will definitely be getting your downloads for them now and I know many of them will love your ebooks. Thank for sharing this!

    • Admin

      Danelle,
Aww thank you so much. I’m so sorry to hear about Titus. I understand all too well the pain that lingers after they are gone. Yes! I hope reading my content helps to validate your feelings and help heal your heart. It’s why I started blogging in the first place. The pain I felt after losing my heart cat was like nothing I’ve experienced before. I wanted to create a space to share my feelings in an effort to help other grieving pet parents going through the same thing. I just didn’t see many resources/people talking about grief after losing a pet, hence here we are. Thanks for taking the time to read this post and yes, definitely share this post and take advantage of the free downloads and tell a friend. I hope it helps! xoxo

Great post as always and your creativity is just awesome, it is so important to take time for yourself as it keeps you balanced in the long run. Great artwork

Supporting yourself is of utmost importance – and during the age of Covid it’s been difficult. I think we’re all coping, but many are not thriving. Finding your space to feed your soul is critical. Particularly when you’re dealing with grief counseling. I’m glad you are taking the time you need – and I’m going to share this (important) post!

  • Britt K

Taking that time off and focusing on yourself is SO important! Burnout has a way of creeping up on us, I find, and it is so important to make sure that we are a priority in our own lives.
I love that you have so many great resources for people that are going through the challenging experience of grief. It’s a difficult time that isn’t talked about often enough. Our pets are an important part of our lives and our families and it’s never easy when that time comes. Knowing that there is a place that we can all come for the support and direction that we need to work through it is an incredible gift for the pet community.

    • Admin

      Britt,
Thank you so much for the kind words and encouragement. I’m happy to provide resources to other grieving pet parents to help in the healing journey.

Kamira you’re such a talented artist! And you have a great understanding of what it’s like to experience pet loss and your beautiful products reflect that. I just pinned your Thinking of You card, it’s gorgeous and can be so useful for so many times when you just want to tell someone they’re in your thoughts. I’m sick of not being able to live life to the fullest, I can’t wait for more outdoor adventures with my dogs and Travel! That’s what is on tap for us this Spring.
