Monday Inspiration #85 – Learn by doing
Happy Monday! Today’s inspirational post brings some insight into how we learn.
My takeaway
Essentially, my interpretation of this quote is that we learn to do everything through practice. We learn by doing. What does that mean?
If you are a writer, you learn to write by writing.
If you are a teacher, you learn to do so by teaching. When learning to love you do so by taking actions that demonstrate love.
And when it comes to learning to heal, you do so with time and practice through self-love. Healing requires acknowledging the pain and taking daily steps to practice self-love and acknowledging the source of pain.
This quote can apply to so many facets of our lives. It is a great reminder that what we want to do and accomplish in our lives requires action and doing.
This past several months we have all learned many life lessons living through a pandemic. I wrote another blog post about the lessons I learned living through a pandemic. And one of the greatest lessons I have learned is how to adapt and grow.
We learn by doing. Being faced with circumstances that are beyond our control forces us to adapt and be flexible. It forces us to grow.
What about you?
Lastly, tell me what did you think about today’s quote? What have you learned something new over the course of the past year? Have you learned to find healing after pet loss? Have you learned a new skill at work? Are you learning to be a new foster parent? Share in the comments below.
