Monday Inspiration #91- There is no shame in grief.
It’s the start of a new week and I swear Spring is right around the corner. The skies are blue and the air is crisp. It’s still cold as all get out, but a new season is upon us. When thinking about this week’s inspiration, I came across this quote. “Ain’t no shame in holding onto grief…as long as you make room for other things too.” – Bubbles, The Wire So what does that mean? Well, from my point of view, you know that I suffered the loss of my heart cat Dusty 6 years ago now and the grief always remains, however, I’ve grown to understand not to stay there. Although time helps immensely, grief doesn’t disappear but rather transforms over time.
And this is okay. Honestly, I think that’s the whole point. Our pets live their lives to the fullest each day and they want us to do the same whether or not they are here in the physical. To honor and remember them, it’s okay to dive deep into your grief but just don’t remain there in that pit. Remember to do your best to practice self-care, explore new activities and passions that feed your soul.
I know this resonated with me over the years. So in the coming weeks, I’m reinvesting my time into more creative projects I’ll be sharing on the blog. Stay tuned.
