Such an important post! When I lost my Cinco, the entire world came crashing down. I was severely depressed for a long time. I still experience little boughts of depression as a result of my grief. I could have really used a pet grief hotline. Finding people who understand what it is like when you are mourning a pet is not as easy as it seems.

Great information! I didn’t even know there are pet grief hotlines. I know each time I’ve lost one of my fur babies, I’ve gone into a deep depression. I’m not even sure if I’ve ever recovered from some. Well, how can you really? Thank you so much for sharing this much needed list of resources!

      Terri,
You are very welcome! And yes, we never really “get over” the grief but learn to live with it. Our fur babies live on in our hearts forever.

I had no idea that there were so many hotlines available. The loss of a pet is such a difficult time with SO many emotions. If you’re lucky enough to have people nearby that know and understand that struggle, that’s great. However, not everyone is surrounded by other pet lovers. I am going to be sharing this list with a few people that I know could use these hotlines at different moments right now.

      Britt,
Thank you for sharing your input. You are so right about not all people understanding the grief after losing a pet. Everyone is different and some are just clueless and can come across insensitive. Yes! Definitely share this list with friends in need. I hope it helps.
