Great compilation of books for pet loss – I especially love Until We Meet Again. People experience pure grief when they lose a pet – and some can have depression. I think it’s so important to talk with someone to help get through it and find a way back to happiness. Because animals are so selfless, they focus on us and love us with all their heart – losing them leaves a big hole in the heart. I found great comfort in reading a few of these books after the loss of Mattie.

      Rebecca,

Well said. It’s so true. Many take the loss of a pet harder than losing a human. It’s important to seek out professional help if needed. No one should be ashamed to get the help they need. Thanks for sharing your input.

Losing a loved one is one of the hardest things most of us have to go through. I consider losing a pet the same as losing a family member or best friend. I’ll have to check out these books.

I always remember the story I read about a guy who turned away from a gate to Paradise because they would not let his dog in, so I loved the one All Pets Go to Heaven. This is such a complex issue and one we need lts of books on so we explore and understand grief.

      Marjorie,
Yes indeed. Pet loss is not so cut and dry and dealing with grief has many layers. Thanks for sharing your insight!

I certainly like the idea of the Rainbow Bridge. Given that we’ve worked with an animal communicator through the years, it would support that theory.
