This is a great list for grieving pet parents. I was especially drawn to the one about other pets grieving the loss of their furry friend. I’ve experienced this a few times and there’s no doubt they grieve. I also think that they help their human and their human helps them to continue the journey forward. Often the bond with the remaining pets becomes even stronger. At least that’s my experience. I’ve been very grateful for my furry friends to help me and me to help them. Thank you for your continued empathic and sympathetic work. I very much appreciate it!

I hope you have a beautiful holiday season and a happy and healthy new year!

      Terri,

Thank you so much! I agree. Having a second pet (or more) in the home does help in the grieving process as you can “lean” on each other for support. The bond with the others does grow stronger. I can testify to that too. Happy Holidays to you and your family too!

There is so much valuable information here for those that are dealing with this difficult time. Honestly, the biggest downfall of being a pet owner is simply that they don’t live as long as we do, so we are setting ourselves up for loss. However, the time that we have with them and the love that we share is worth the heartbreak.

      Britt,
I’m glad you found this post helpful and valuable. So true! Although their lives are far too short, I would not trade my time with my furkids for anything. I’d do it all again in a heartbeat despite the heartache. The unconditional love and memories shared are priceless!

Thank you so much. Grief is a touchy subject to talk about however I’d like to think I do so in a manner that still keeps bereaved pet parents hopeful better days are in their future.
